There is only one mango on the trees this year
and the sun, decided not to shine.
The rains are all over the place
and the cold wind, blows through sunny days.
But they say the climate isn’t changing.
And, if it is, then we are not to be blamed.
So, we are glad that we have not to get the warmth
from a nature where we no longer have a claim.
I write poems in Sinhala and English for my own joy. Listening to a recent policy discussion on climate change in Europe inspired me to write this poem. Of course the experience is from Sri Lanka.
