Erect Diction
Brace yourselves.
I’m going to try to win this race against myself,
My mouth’s going to be attempting to run at a pace fast enough to capture this pun laced chase
Across neuron and synapse, stringing thoughts together hoping they don’t snap
Fall flat, lapse into nonsensical fragments of figurative crap.
I’m going to let loose a whirlwind of words storming through my mind
Within which I let emotions surge and you’ll see what kind of man I am
Open, exposing that I live without a plan.
Stitching metaphorical details frilled with intricacies
Descriptions with pen-point accuracy
Surgical depictions highlighting social fallacies.
Cause I use words to do my fighting
Spending my spare time writing
I’m verbose.
Overdosed on chronicling logos
Engrossed in grandiose searches for perfected ethos
Surmounting cerebral mounds
Handling protrusions ever searching for higher ground.
But then I look up and a crowd surrounds me
Caught in the act
Like some uncouth sleuth
Breaking into tomes searching for indexed truths.
But much to others consternation
I can’t help this act of verbal masturbation
I’m cunning lingually calibrated
Haphazardly curated
Expertly undulating
Exaggeratedly exasperating.
Nothing is as important to me as my pen is
I let it do the talking while others standing gawking at the size of my erect diction
Sliding into the folds of your mind spraying depictions
Displaying my thoughts without restrictions.
I’m a neural navigator, a inherent instigator
tap me and I’ll ooze semantic syrup, I’m a sapiosexual.
I don’t waste any words I soak up the residuals.
Chronicling lexicon
Compiling a literary stockpile with intent to beguile
While trying my best to maintain this logophile lifestyle
Raining unrestrained chains of rhyme
To entertain the insane with the sublime.
Through seasons turning streams of thought into pages of loose leaves
Falling off these ideating trees
Digging up their roots cause I’m an etymologist
Slogging through semantic sod just to subsist.
I feed of text mastered lexisynthesis
Dwelling in states verbal bliss
For I’ve been shunning severity since birth
Tripping over trivialities with mirth
To peruse my mind is to be amused
But spend too much time and you’ll leave confused.
For I’m nonsensical
Methodically unconventional
Inherently linguistical
Unabashedly rhetorical
I lust insatiably for new vocabulary
Glutinously feeding on jargon
Dropping puns like nuns cycle rosaries for fun.
The dictionary is my bible, conversation my prayer
The word its my lord and grammar my Barron
The pen is my sword and pages my armor
Scrawling to war defending their honor.
Leaving cynics tensed up and phrased out,
Chicken scratched down with subordinate clause.
So sit tight as I give these words a whirl while I literally brush past them in a wordwind
Tornadoing torrid truths turning pages in the book that you’d find my life in.
Spilling out my insides in front of this crowd, indexing my life
Attempting to show everyone we’re all the same.
Collect all these cranial organs and throw them in a human appendix
And it’ll burst with critical acclaim.
Watch me create a stage by giving everyone a part of myself
Handing out auditory suppositories
Relaying my heart beat on the collective ear drum of the crowd
Using my voice to tap tap tap into minds
Aural percussion leading to cognitive concussion.
I’ll share something new and let perceptions crumble,
Blow out some minds to make them stumble.
So when I actually give you a poem,
I hope you brace yourselves.
