Open Brain: Cape Town

  • Company's Green 19 Queen Victoria St Cape Town South Africa (map)

Join us for an evening of expression at the Company's Garden, everyone is welcome and we encourage all art forms to share their creativity.
Feel free to bring blankets and what you need to relax and share in the park, this includes any equipment, instruments and costumes that you may need.

As this is the first Open Brain event in Cape Town please arrive promptly so we can make the most of the time and space.

You don't need to be a professional artist, in fact quite the contrary, if you doodle on your lunch break and you'd like to share it then this is the space for you.
Perhaps you know someone itching to express and share, let them know... spectaters welcome also, no pressure.

It's chilled vibes and art stuff... in a park.
Hope to see you there.

Open Brain is the realization of the idea that we all have something worth sharing. Since standard social scenarios don’t provide a consistent space for communal expression, Open Brain creates this space.

Originally conceived as an open mic that would reach beyond the standards of music, poetry, dance, and stand up comedy, Open Brain features all forms of art. This includes arts typically reserved for galleries, including illustration, painting, photography, and film—as well as less conventional forms like storytelling, hardware hacks, software development, cooking, massage therapy, rocket designs, and conversations around everything from artificial intelligence and genetics to the role of art in society.

These salon-style gatherings are neither new nor complicated, but society's present state seems to have forgotten the importance of communal sharing.

It’s up to us to bring it back. Join us every other week to open your brain and share whatever you’ve got.
